We collect only the essential information necessary to provide educational services to interested parties.
This privacy statement applies to the Tutorax website, its affiliated websites, and the Tutorax login portal and governs data collection and use. By using any of the websites or the login portal, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.
The information Tutorax collects and receives
We obtain information about you when you use our website, when you provide it to us, or occasionally to third parties (e.g., our partners or school boards affiliated with our services).
Like most website operators, Tutorax collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our goal in collecting non-personal information is to better understand how our visitors use our site.
We record usage data when you visit or use our site, which includes third-party applications and platforms used. Tutorax also collects potentially identifying information such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. We do not use this information to identify our visitors, however, and do not disclose this information except under the same circumstances that we use and disclose personally identifiable information, as described below. A user who browses the site without opening an account or providing personally identifiable information to Tutorax does so anonymously.
Some visitors to the Tutorax site choose to interact with us in ways that require us to collect personally identifiable information, such as name, email address and/or phone number. The amount and type of information we collect depends on the nature of the interaction.
A user may also provide personally identifiable information about others, such as contact information to notify in the event of an emergency. If you communicate with Tutorax via email, post messages on our various social networks, make phone calls or calls on your cell phone, communicate through electronic or other interactive devices, fill out online forms, surveys or contest entries, or communicate with Tutorax by any means, any information you provide as part of that communication may be collected by Tutorax. Tutorax may also collect information about how customers use our site, for example, by tracking the number of unique views received by pages on the site, or the domains from which customers come.
Personal data categories
Tutorax may collect personally identifiable information from its customers and/or tutors in a variety of ways.

Tutors seeking to enter into self-employment contracts with Tutorax are asked to provide additional information, such as personal information supporting the Tutor’s respective skills and experience, as well as social security number or federal employer identification number for tax purposes. Tutors also have the ability to choose what information they wish to include on their profile, such as education, work experience, skills, city or region, likes or interests, and photo.

The information shared is the grade level, the subjects requested, the class schedule requested and any other information that the parent wishes to be shared with the tutor.
When a tutor agrees to assist a student, we share the following student and/or parent information with the tutor: name, phone number, email and address.

We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual and aggregated basis.
As with most websites, we automatically collect certain information and store it in log files. This information may include Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system or clickstream data. We may combine this automatically collected log information with other information we collect about you. We do this to improve the services we offer you and to improve marketing, analytics or site functionality.
We implement Google Analytics features that use display advertising information for Google Analytics demographic and interest reporting.

You can free yourself from behavioral advertising in the following ways:
- Negative consent “by the piece”: you can install About Ads and/or BV! Media. This will allow you to refuse behavioral advertising.
- Web browser add-ons: If you use Firefox or Chrome as your browser, you can install Abine TACO or the Google add-on called Keep-My-Opt-Outs. If you are using Firefox 4 or Internet Explorer 9, you can enable the blocking option in the preferences.
