Terms of use

EFFECTIVE: JANUARY 16, 2025

Definition

In these Terms and Conditions, the term “Tutorax” refers to the companies Tutorat Tutorax Inc. and Services Spécialisés Tutorax Inc.

General Terms of Service

  1. Acceptance of Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy must be read before using our services. By using the services offered by Tutorax, you acknowledge that you have read these terms and agree to be bound by and comply with them.

  2. Communication
Tutorax reserves the right to communicate with you using the contact information you have provided.

  3. Payment Terms
Tutoring sessions are payable after the session is completed, either on Wednesday or Thursday depending on your region. No payment is required before the services begin. We bill weekly for all sessions completed during the period.

  4. Pricing
The current rates are displayed on the Tutorax website (tutorax.com). Rates may change during the year and are always up to date on our website. It is your responsibility to check the current rates before starting the service.

  5. Registration Fees
A registration fee is charged per family when opening a file. Fees range from $25.99 + tax to $39.99 + tax, depending on the service offered. The applicable amount will be confirmed at the time of registration. These fees are included in the satisfaction guarantee, along with the first session if you are not completely satisfied.

  6. Recommendations for Effective Follow-Up
For significant academic results, a minimum of five sessions is recommended for a student not in a failing situation. In cases of academic failure, we recommend a minimum of ten sessions or weekly follow-ups over three months.

  7. Satisfaction Guarantee
If the selected tutor or specialist does not meet your expectations, we commit to quickly finding a new resource and reimbursing the first session. This is what makes us the number one tutoring company in North America!

  8. Mandatory Online Account
Using your Tutorax online account is mandatory to ensure a user-friendly experience. You can manage everything from this account, offering great flexibility, independent of our opening hours.

  9. Payment Method
All payments are made via withdrawals from the credit card associated with your account. This agreement covers weekly automatic payments for services rendered, with a one-day notice. A valid payment method must be registered in your account to schedule sessions.

  10. Search Times and Availability
Our commitment is to make every effort to find the ideal candidate as quickly as possible. If no resources are available in your area, you can opt for online sessions. Tutorax cannot guarantee that a tutor or specialist will be found following your request, as availability varies during the school year.

  11. Quality and Competence of Tutors and Specialists
Our tutors and specialists are qualified and motivating, with relevant educational training. Each professional is selected for their skills in working with youth and confirms having no criminal record related to teaching or tutoring.

  12. Minimum Session Duration
Each session lasts a minimum of one hour.

  13. Cancellation Policy
You may cancel a session at least 24 hours in advance by contacting your tutor or specialist. For cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, a fee equivalent to one hour of tutoring will be charged.

  14. Late Fees and Declined Transactions
A 2.5% monthly fee will be added to any unpaid invoice. After three declined payments within the same school year, you will no longer be eligible for our services. Fees may also apply to each declined transaction or session.

  15. Additional Homework and Educational Material
If you wish for your child to receive additional homework, please notify the tutor. You will be responsible for correcting this homework to avoid using tutoring time, except for targeted reviews of unmastered concepts.

  16. Parent Presence
To ensure your child’s safety and the quality of services, we request that parents be present at home during sessions, whether in-person or online.
